Harry Bernstein: At the age of 96, Bernstein released his debut book, The Invisible Wall. His autobiography, which described his upbringing in a low-income Jewish household, was widely praised and inspired three further volumes.
Gladys Burrill – Burrill began running marathons at the age of 86, and when she finished the Honolulu Marathon in less than ten hours, she broke the record for the oldest woman to finish a marathon aged 92.
Grandma Moses (Anna Mary Robertson Moses): At the age of 78, Moses followed a lifetime ambition and started her artistic career. One of her paintings sold for $1.2 million, demonstrating how popular they are even now.
Peter Mark Roget: At the age of 73, Roget released his well-known thesaurus. His Roget’s Thesaurus is now a standard resource for English language learning.
Laura Ingalls Wilder: Inspired by her pioneering upbringing, Wilder began penning the Little House series at the age of 65. Her books were a TV hit and are still highly regarded.
Colonel Harland Sanders: At the age of 62, Sanders started KFC and sold it for $2 million when he was 74. His famous fast-food chain is a living testament to his legacy.
Ray Kroc: At the age of 59, Kroc acquired McDonald’s and built it into a massive international fast-food conglomerate, amassing a fortune in the process.
Julia Child: At the age of 51, Child made her television debut on The French Chef. Her TV series and cookbooks established her as a culinary icon and made French cuisine approachable for Americans.
Charles Darwin: At the age of fifty, Darwin released his seminal work On the Origin of Species, which transformed science by proposing the idea of evolution.
Momofuku Ando: Ando made waves throughout the world with his inventive goods when he invented cup noodles at age 61 and quick noodles at age 50.
